“Laura is an executive with great future.” That’s what the renowned President of Walt Disney Studios Spain, Javier Vasallo, said about Laura in his book ‘Without clapperboard, 40 stories of cinema”. Who became her mentor and her lifetime friend. (‘Sin claquetas, 40 historias de cine’ page 247, publisher AGA Ediciones).
Laura worked as executive in multinational companies including Walt Disney Studios and Sony Pictures Spain. And in only five years Laura became an invaluable asset for their marketing team.
“Laura was an invaluable support for Sony Pictures during her time with us. She has the ability to come up with creative solutions, deliver the best performance in her duties with great analysis skills, and she always makes the work environment a better place to be with her positive attitude.” Pablo Izquierdo, VP Client Services Latam at Havas Media Group.
She was involved in the launch of many blockbusters as “The boy in the striped pyjamas”, “WALL·E”, “Narnia Prince Caspian”, “HSM3”, “Angels&Demos”, “Seven Pounds” and “Pink Panther 2” among others.
“Laura is the kind of person you always want to have in your team. She is creative, a good analyst with a sharp eye for detail, a hard worker and most importantly an exceptional team player. She puts passion and heart in every single project. Basically, an excellent young marketer!” Marta Kowalska, Head of Theatrical Marketing at The Walt Disney Studios.
Marta is still calls upon Laura for a nice lunch to chat and catch up every time she comes for meetings at Lucas Film or Pixar Studios in San Francisco.
When the film industry started to decrease in Spain, Laura was brave enough to take the risk to invest in herself and her professional skills. For her, the right decision was a move to the US. She immersed herself in her new culture and opened herself to a great new adventure. Having a new life experience, travelling and learning from others.
“I must say that I still miss her, which is probably the best thing you can say about an ex-employee. (…) She is also a very energetic person that perfectly fits in any team and understands the importance of satisfying the needs of the client. Always happy and a lot of fun.” Mario Chavero, General Manager and owner of Butragueño & Bottländer.
Her decision to move to San Francisco to undertake a Certificate in International Business at San Francisco State University has built on her BD in Communications Sciences from the university of Malaga in Spain.
After a great year of results working as Area Director for an international cultural exchange company in San Francisco, Laura again demonstrated her courageous side. She took a great leap forward by opening a business with her partner Pedro Cano in the USA, BlindDog Communications, where she’s confident of getting back to her roots, the entertainment industry.
“Laura is a hardworking, conscientious, honest, intelligent, and trustworthy executive. She sets herself high standards regarding her work and she never disappoints. Laura is an excellent team worker; always popular with her colleagues and full of energy and positivism. She is highly versatile, responsible and more than capable of working on her own initiative.” Alvaro Curiel, Entertainment & Digital Senior Executive.
